Meteo Hiking Trail
The Meteo Hiking Trail leads from Gais across Schwäbrig to the Gäbris peak and further on to Trogen (or vice versa). Both towns can be reached by public transportation. The Meteo Hiking Trail has 12 orientation tablets with details on meteoroligical conditions and aspects of the region.
Customs and Traditions
There is no other region in Switzerland where tradition and customs are experienced as intensely in daily life as in the Appenzellerland. The locals wear a Kranzrock, cameo jewellery and Mailändertuch to the Stobete, the traditional dance with a string music ensemble.
Hiking tour around Gais
From our guesthouse hike along the ridge to Sommersberg and enjoy the panoramic view over the surrounding valleys. Continue via Schwäbrig to Gäbris-Seeli. Then on to the hilltop restaurant Gäbris and enjoy the wonderful view on Lake of Constance.
